(SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and
systems to advance our future of living and working in space
sustainably.The role is part of the Commercial LEO Destinations
(CLD) Program, which is focused on development, manufacturing, and
operation of Orbital Reef, a Space Station which will provide for
the sustained human presence in LEO going forward.As part of a
hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will be deployed to
programs that shape the future of Blue Origin. Your skill in the
design and analysis of spacecraft structures, as well as your
ability to deliver safe, reliable, ready to install hardware that
meets requirements, while doing so within the allocated cost and
schedule requirements, will lead to a rewarding career with Blue

- Travel expected up to 0-5% of the timeResponsibilities include
but are not limited to:
- Participate in the entire design cycle of structural and
mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design,
trade studies, structural analysis, development testing and
qualification.
- Generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and
interface control documents.
- Define assembly and test of development and flight
hardware.
- Participate in subsystem level testing including planning,
execution, data reduction and analysis.
- Develop component specifications and manage suppliers.
- Provide manufacturing and production support.
- Participate in the development and purchase of new equipment
and tooling.
- Work with multi-functional teams that are responsible for
selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to
produce world class aerospace hardware.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
- Level 4 Requirement: 8+ years of experience.
- Familiarity with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch
vehicle structures.
- Knowledge in material selection, compatibility, and
manufacturing techniques.
- Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD
software.
- Comprehension of classical stress analysis methods.
- Familiar with application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and
variation analysis.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to apply structural mechanics principles and
development designs using hand calculations and finite element
analysis.
- Proficiency in Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill
10.
- Familiarity with analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct,
LS/Dyna, Abaqus.
- Awareness of metallic and composite design and analysis
considerations.
- Experience with rapid development techniques for hardware.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices, manufacturing
fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
- Experience with Optimization and DOE methods as applied to
design, analysis, and testing.
- Experienced with fabrication of composite primary structures
for aerospace.
- Experience working in a multi-functional team responsible for
selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the
design to produce world-class engineered products.
- Proven experience developing manufacturing processes for
transition to production.Compensation range for on site CO
