Description: The Outpatient RN provides high quality professional
nursing services in a family practice setting. Family medicine
providers in Hondo offer a variety of health care choices for
individuals and families. We provide preventive care, teach healthy
lifestyle choices, identify and treat common medical conditions,
and assess the urgency of medical problems. ? Serve as sole
clinical staff member at the Hondo Family Practice clinic, working
directly under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner. Support
the provider during patient evaluations as needed, including
rooming, chart preparation, and follow-up care. Respond to patient
phone calls and MyChart messages, assess symptoms, provide guidance
per triage protocols, and coordinate with provider for evaluation
or escalations. Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, manage
vaccines, and ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and
regulatory requirements. Support scheduling, coordination of
referrals, prior authorizations, and communication with patient.
Provide patient education on medications, chronic disease
management, and follow-up instructions. Perform nurse visits,
including vital signs, medication administration, immunizations,
wound care, and chronic disease support. Conduct phlebotomy visits
- Including blood draws, specimen handling, and subsequent
documentation. Provide assessments and care for walk-in patients.
