Presbyterian Kaseman is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) who provides compassionate, age appropriate care to children and adolescents experiencing acute or chronic behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric conditions. The RN promotes a safe, therapeutic environment, collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, and supports patients and families through crisis stabilization, treatment planning, and recovery. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on assessed needs and treatment goals. Administer medications safely, including psychotropic medications, and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions. Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and trauma?informed care. Facilitate therapeutic groups, skills training, and psychoeducation sessions. Observe and document patient behavior, symptoms, progress, and responses to treatment. Maintain a safe and structured environment using approved behavior management strategies. Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and direct care staff to support treatment plans. Maintain clear, compassionate communication with patients' families or guardians. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and care conferences. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospital regulations, including HIPAA and patient rights standards. Address safety concerns immediately and participate in unit safety planning. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and coping skills. Provide emotional support and advocate for patient needs.
