Job Description Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION The Day Support
Program Staff provides assistance and support to individuals with
disabilities within a day program setting. They work under the
supervision of a program supervisor to ensure the well-being,
safety, and engagement of program participants. This role involves
implementing individualized care plans, facilitating activities,
and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Role has a

Responsibilities: Client Support: Provide direct assistance and
support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities,
including personal care, meal preparation, and medication
management. Activity Planning: Assist in planning and organizing
daily activities and programs that cater to the interests and
abilities of program participants. Instruction and Guidance: Offer
guidance and instruction to participants in developing life skills,
social skills, and independence. Behavior Management: Implement
behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors and
promote positive interactions among participants. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of participant progress, activities, and
any incidents or concerns, following organizational guidelines and
protocols. Communication: Communicate regularly with program
coordinators, fellow staff members, and participants' families or
caregivers to provide updates, exchange information, and address
any issues or concerns. Safety and Compliance: Ensure the safety
and well-being of program participants by adhering to safety
protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements. Team
Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members and
interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, share insights, and
contribute to the overall effectiveness of the program. Advocacy:
Advocate for the rights and interests of individuals with
disabilities, promoting inclusion, dignity, and respect in all
interactions and activities. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE High
school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional
education or training) Previous experience working with individuals
with disabilities preferred Strong communication and interpersonal
skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Patience,
empathy, and a positive attitude Ability to adapt to changing
situations and environments Basic knowledge of relevant regulations
and standards (e.g., HIPAA, safety guidelines) CPR and First Aid
certification required (can also get this while on-site) Article 9
Certification (will get this while working)
