ICU/Critical Care RN in Phoenix, Arizona, 85013! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty:
Coronary Care ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per
Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License:
Must have a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS
required. CCRN preferred. Must-Have: Must have Level I trauma
experience. Description: Medical pre-screens are conducted for
candidates. If clinical recommends, approval will be sought. No
second interview is required. Candidates must comply with a 50-mile
radius rule. Local rates will not be considered. A valid driver's
license is required for verification. Candidates must pass a
dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance. Each traveler gets two
attempts to pass the exam. Failure will result in being DNU within
the specified regions for six months. Travel teams are required to
have their own vehicles. Candidates must have natural hair color
and no facial piercings. Men are required to be clean-shaven for
fit testing. There is a pass/fail exam on day one of orientation.
All RNs are expected to complete a skills lab for Foley catheter
insertion and central line dressing changes. Specific departments
may have different skill requirements. Travelers going to the main
campus and additional campus will participate in skills training.
Failure to maintain a sterile field during skills training may
result in termination. Every nurse is expected to demonstrate
competence in maintaining a sterile field. Additional educational
training will be provided for lifts, restraints, and wound care.
The unit features a high number of beds and varying
nurse-to-patient ratios. Ratios can be as low as 1:1 depending on
patient acuity. Travel nurses may float to other intensive care
units and telemetry units. There is a requirement to float to
designated facilities if asked. Common diagnoses include cardiac
surgery recovery, lung transplants, and other high-acuity
conditions. The confirmed cancellation policy allows the facility
to cancel a limited number of shifts. Travel nurses should be
prepared to manage a variety of critical care procedures. Strong IV
skills are essential, and respiratory therapy is available 24/7.
Pharmacy services are also available around the clock. Shifts are
typically from 7 am to 7 pm. This position requires high acuity
experience with particular emphasis on bedside procedures. 5
