looking for a Database Engineer , a W2 contract opportunity with
one of our largest clients! Senior Database Engineer / Database
Operations Engineer Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: 24-Month Contract (Contract-to-Hire Potential) Overview
We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to support
next-generation data center expansion and operational excellence
for enterprise database platforms. This role focuses on database
architecture, automation, and operational reliability for
large-scale environments utilizing MongoDB, PostgreSQL (EDB), and
YugabyteDB . The ideal candidate will have strong database
operations experience, automation expertise using Python, and
familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI-driven automation
. Key Responsibilities Database Engineering & Operations Design,
implement, and maintain highly complex MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and
YugabyteDB database environments. Lead database data modeling,
integration, mapping, and capacity planning initiatives. Plan,
research, design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level database
platforms . Develop high availability, replication, and disaster
recovery solutions . Automation & Platform Efficiency Develop
automation solutions using Python to streamline database builds and
operational support. Reduce manual operational tasks and improve
Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) . Implement operational automation
practices that improve scalability and reliability. Security &
Compliance Design and implement database security controls aligned
with Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks . Support
auditing and compliance standards for enterprise systems. Technical
Leadership Provide technical leadership and consultation on
database architecture and strategic platform direction . Influence
database technology decisions and future enterprise architecture.
Develop operational policies, standards, and best practices .
Collaboration & Support Work closely with engineering teams,
operations teams, and leadership to deliver reliable database
services. Support on-call DBA rotation for critical production
environments. Lead projects with enterprise impact and drive
adoption of operational best practices. Required Qualifications 5
years of database operations experience . Strong experience with:
MongoDB EDB PostgreSQL / PostgreSQL YugabyteDB Experience with
Python scripting or automation development . Experience designing
high availability, clustering, and replication solutions . Strong
understanding of database performance optimization and scalability
. Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services or
large enterprise environments . Experience working with automation
frameworks or AI-driven automation tools . Experience implementing
database security standards and compliance frameworks . Previous
experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications .
