The department consists of 46 licensed beds and utilizes the split flow model concept for patients who do not require a bed and are not in a critical state. Annually, the ED treats over 65,000 patients and is an American College of Surgeons Provisional Level 3 Trauma Center. Our Banner Del Webb ED team is highly focused on delivering state of the art Stroke, Cardiac, and Pediatric Care. We maintain NIHSS Stroke Gold Elite Plus, Chest Pain and Pediatric Preparedness accreditations. -In this role as RN Operations Support Specialist (ROSS) you will be supporting the Emergency Department. This position is away from the bedside but plays a crucial role in supporting our teams and our patients. As the ROSS, you will be responsible for the on-boarding and orientation experience for newly hired team members and for assisting in their career development. You will be involved in quality and safety by gathering data to determine areas that need attention, and as a result you will have an impact on outcomes for our patients. You will support the leadership team in planning, development and execution of education for the department.We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about helping our staff members, one who can provide ongoing support to our new team members and in turn maintain staff retention. Monthly check-ins with our new staff will assist in keeping them informed, supported and guided as needed. With 390 licensed beds, the hospital provides a wide range of services, including acute medical and surgical services as well as intensive care, emergency and urgent care, inpatient/outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, urology, pulmonary, obstetrics and gynecology, extended care, outpatient diagnostic services, acute and outpatient rehabilitation and adult behavioral services.POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for supporting nurse leadership in the planning, development and execution of facility education for clinicians, supporting the on-boarding and orientation of newly hired registered nurses, career development and effective internal clinical communications. This role performs under the guidance and direction of the chief nursing officer or designee and serves as a liaison between all disciplines by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving. This position proactively supports the quality and continuity of services throughout the healthcare systems and assists in resolution of systems issues and enforces facility/unit/department policy/procedures and standards of care. This position coordinates oversight of quality, risk management, safety and nursing standards and is a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and maintaining clinical competency within the facility/unit/department; collaborates with Clinical Education to coordinate and support the on-boarding and precepting of newly hired nurses (this includes supporting programs and communication within the facility); develops and coordinates system and facility initiatives to promote clinical career development and lateral nurse pathways and may lead and implement facility clinical initiatives. This position contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, safe care; and actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, such activities may include participating in professional organizations.CORE FUNCTIONS1. Performs standard assignments within own job functions. Expanding knowledge of fundamental theories, practices, procedures, and concepts within the job's function.2. Makes decisions within guidelines and policies that impact own priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust possess knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a Associates degree.Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.Requires a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant experience. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree is nursing preferred.Additional related education and/or experience preferred.Our organization supports a drug-free work environment.
