office Reports To: SVP of Sales Theme Parks Position Summary The
Sample & Development Manager is responsible for overseeing all
domestically produced and import-produced samples from initial
request through final account submission. This role ensures samples
are executed accurately, meet internal and account expectations,
and are delivered on time. The position works cross-functionally
with Production, Art, Separations, Factory partners, and Senior
Leadership to manage sample workflows, approvals, and
communication. Key Responsibilities Domestic Sample Development Own
and manage all domestically produced samples through final account
submission. Coordinate sample requests by: Determining required
completion dates. Allocating requests to the appropriate production
artist. Confirming garment availability. Confirm number of samples
needed Follow the internal submission process of completed art
files to the separations team Confirming separations have been
submitted to the factory If Garment Dye, confirm color and
treatment of dye Confirming Dye standards with Dye house Confirming
sample completion dates Review factory sample photos and compare
execution against: Approved art files Development CADs Internal
notes on execution expectation Provide approvals or detailed
comments to factory partners. Review physical samples upon receipt
and compare to Development CADs to ensure execution meets
expectations. Escalate execution issues to the SVP and/or Senior
EAM to determine next steps when samples do not meet standards.
Submit approved samples to the account following the predetermined
sample submission process. Track domestic samples and submissions
through the domestic WIP. Follow up with accounts via email if
feedback is not received within 48 hours. Communicate daily updates
with the SVP and/or Senior EAM regarding sample status and risks.
Import Sample Development & Submissions Review and compare import
art strike-offs and pre-production samples against: Art files
provided to factories Applicable style guides Ensure color,
placement, and execution meet internal expectations and account
standards. Submit approved import samples to the account following
the predetermined submission process. Track all import sample
submissions through the import WIP. Follow up with accounts if
comments are not received within 48 hours. Apply the same review
and submission process for Fit Samples and TOP Samples, received
from the Production Manager, Senior EAM, or SVP. Provide daily
status updates to the SVP and/or Senior EAM. Cross-Functional &
Process Management Track and manage any art changes that may impact
samples currently in progress or entering production, for both
domestic and import programs. Maintain and update key sample dates
and milestones in account DTRs on a weekly basis. Participate in
daily touch-base meetings with the Production Manager, Senior EAM,
and SVP. Ensure adherence to internal sample workflows, timelines,
and approval processes. Qualifications & Skills Strong
understanding of domestic and import apparel sample development
processes. High attention to detail with the ability to evaluate
execution across art files, CADs, and physical samples. Strong
organizational and project management skills with the ability to
manage multiple sample workflows simultaneously. Excellent written
and verbal communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally
and escalate issues appropriately. Experience working with
factories, separations teams, and production artists preferred.
