THE POSITION
This multi-dimensional role intersects Business Development,
Customer Success, Data Centric Solutions Design, and Product
Management for Honeywell Digital Solutions in the defense
sector.
The HCE Defense Solution Architect will divide their time between
technical vision/strategy, solution consultant, business
development, and product management.
In general, you will be working with defense customers to
understand their business and the data which supports it to advance
their digitization and modernization aspirations.
Leverage knowledge of data driven needs & objectives to drive
adoption of Honeywell Digital solutions in the defense sector.
Build strong relationships with defense clients, from boots on the
ground to senior leaders, to grow the customers vision in
partnership with Honeywell.
Candidate will be a primary contact for high value defense
customers, representing the collective Voice of Customer to the HON
internal product team for multi-functional defense enterprise
customers.
Candidate will co-own the development and execution of strategic
account plans hand in hand with the sales & Business Development
team(s), with a focus on objectives and success criteria for HON
Digital services.
Technical Vision 40%
Gather and interpret user/systems requirements into data
specifications, working with product, network, and engineering
teams to identify the proper solution & configuration to serve the
customers core business needs.
Produce functional system specifications based on customer use
cases.
Support the development of technical artifacts which support the
solution design & architecture, data-centric value proposition,
implementation & integration strategies, etc. to support
communication with/to/in-between the customer, sales, product,
business development and leadership stakeholders.
Develop or support existing defense customer roadmap for
digitization and modernization; identifying and prioritizing value
opportunities and process enhancements.
Use functional architecture to engage appropriate business units,
product teams, and partners to define total solution needs.
Solution Consultant 30%
Collaborate with the defense customer to understand their business
process, requirements, to continually identify Honeywell Digital
Solution offerings to grow the business while continually
delivering exceptional customer experience.
Ensure solutions elevate the core customer needs at a functional
level, are aligned with strategic enterprise level, demonstrate
scalability, and meet evolving security and technology sustainment
needs.
Be the internal Voice of Customer and advocate.
Provide support to implementation team/partner to develop the
implementation strategy & plan.
Business Development 20%
Establish a thorough understanding of the defense customer needs,
identifying areas for new opportunity or business expansion.
Support sales and BD teams in assembling responses to customer
solicitations & requests. RFP, RFI, RFQ, IDIQ etc,
Perform quantitative value analysis for customer solutions to
support value proposition for sales process
Product Management 10%
Collect/interpret customer needs through face-to-face
interactions.
Use knowledge and deep understanding of customers landscape to
shape and prioritize HON product and engineering roadmap
MUST HAVE
Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting the Aerospace & Defense
industry, clients, and/or projects
Minimum of 5 years working in data architecture, systems design, or
digital solution architecture
Bachelor's degree in technical degree, preferably Computer Science,
Systems Engineering or related field, plus 5 years of progressive
post-baccalaureate experience in IT or related to data-centric
solution development.
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS: US Citizenship is required due to
contractual requirements.
*Exceptions for Degree requirements will be made for qualified
candidates with applied military work experience.
*Skill and demonstrated ability to perform the job will be
prioritized over education requirements.

Familiarity with and/or experience with design in data
architecture, modeling, management, and governance.

Must have willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50%
of the time to meet client needs. Some international travel may be
required.
